My interests include functional annotation of avian gene products. To this end I provide Gene Ontology via the AgBase database and developed the Chicken Gene Nomenclature Committee. My research groups uses proteomics and transcriptomics to identify expressed chicken gene prducts, curation of published literature to associate known function to these gene products, and bio-informatics to predict functions for gene products that are not well characterized.
